While constructing electric fence, different types of things are needed. The material that is used by these things has to be of good quality so it can last longer and is much more reliable. 

The most important component of electric fencing is the wire. There are two major types of wires used: smooth steel wires and barbed steel wires. The reasons for using each one of these vary. However, smooth steel wires are preferred by many people. Electrified barbed wires are much more lethal. If an animal or a person gets caught in these wires, he or it may get stuck in the wire and he will suffer continuous electric shock.

Rabbit netting and Poultry netting also make use of stainless steel to provide them with the proper electrical netting. Electric Fence Posts are usually made up of wood or metal. These posts have fence insulators placed on them. Many people are replacing these electric fencing posts by using posts that are made up of insulating materials. Plastic fence posts or polyposts are examples of such posts.

Using proper fence energizers is also very important. These are available in different voltage levels; for example, 9v energizer and 12v energizers. A higher voltage level means that the distance between simultaneous posts can be increased. Polytape is the new material that is being used to make electric fencing tape. Various types of electric fencing kits, such as, Poultry Net Kit and horse fence kits are also available. All of these materials help in constructing reliable and safer electric fencing.
